Just a few words, we are still working the campaign really hard and are counting on you to spread the word to get out and vote! There are only a few days left of early voting. Those precincts will be open till 8pm Friday. Then the only chance you will get to vote is Tuesday the 29th of May at your precinct number listed on your card. There has been many things happen this election to confuse a lot of folks. First the realignment issues which delayed the election from its original date,the city bond elections and so on. Please don't let those things hinder you from getting to the polls now and casting your vote. I have been 100% honest when it comes to the changes that need to be made at the Sheriff's department. Many of us do not know of the lack of care, negligence,one sided, and tyrannical treatment these deputies suffer day in and day out because of the current leadership. There are many problems that not only effect the deputies but it eventually rolls down hill to us in the community. The current leadership plays the good old boy game, they surround themselves with an elite group of self serving individuals that creates a wall around the current leader. Everyone else are treated as if their choices, voices and opinions do not count. If you are brave enough to act on or speak your opinion you will most certainly suffer reprimand or reprecussions. This is not the way a department or any work environment for that matter should be operated. As long as policies are acknowledged and followed people are still entitled to their opinions and thoughts and should by all means feel comfortable approaching their leadership without the fear of
backlash or punishment. Please help me make a much needed change in the department. Many deputies are waiting to see what the turn out is and If I am not elected many say they are out the door. Lets make this much needed change now by uniting together and speaking at the polls with our votes!!! Vote Ricketts for Sheriff, I will not let you or the deputies down.....

Hi Everyone! Just a few words to touch base and let you all know that we are continuing to work hard on the campaign and will do so up to the very end. I appreciate the support and the hard work all of our friends,family and supporters have done! We have a few more days to go and these last few days are crucial. We have to unite together to make a difference in the Sheriff's Department. This is our one time to show how many of us agree that there needs to be a serious change in the leadership at the BCSO. It is also the time to come to the aid of all the Deputies, and staff that are tired of they way things have been done. Their morale is low, they deserve better pay,we need to hire more, and work on the retention rate. We also have a lot of work to do out in the county to increase the safety of your neighborhoods. We can only see this happen if we get to the polls and speak with our votes. I have so many ideas and changes that can improve the system tremendously but I can only implement them with your votes to put me in that office. It is time to stop and over rule the historical habit of placing poor leadership back into the Sheriff's office, only to see the same type of corrupt leadership happen over and over again. Please take the time to vote,encourage your friends and family to get out and vote. Ask everyone you know,text,FB or email. People to people advertisement is a huge help to us. I hope everyone had a great week.As we head into the weekend I want to remind everyone that early voting is still going on and will be until May 25th. You can vote anywhere that has a vote sign, after that you will have to vote at your precinct on election day May 29th. On the front page of our website we have a link that will take you to a calendar with dates,times and early voting locations. I hope that each and every one of you will support me and vote Larry Ricketts for Bexar County Sheriff, so that I can help the Deputies,staff and community. There is much work to be done. It can be better if we all go to the polls and speak with our votes. I have so many ideas to move the department into the future,save money and reward all those that come to work everyday and work in this law enforcement field. It is an honorable career and I for one and my family are very grateful for the safety provided to us. This weekend will be busy we have an event tomorrow at 3pm to 8pm at Marianito's Extreme Tex-Mex on 2102 Bandera Road. We have teamed up with Felix the owner of this fabulous place to have Larry Ricketts Campaign Extreme Extravaganza! This restaurant has wonderful food and on Saturday Felix has made a signature burger in my honor move over Clint Eastwood, The Dirty Larry Burger Special will be available Saturday with a portion of the sales going to the campaign. Michael Anthony and The Broken Duck Feet Band will be there providing live music...its byob on the veranda if you wish to bring a beverage or two. This is going to be a great time folks so please if your out and about stop by and say hi!! Sunday we will be at Primo's on Castroville & 19th Street at 2pm-5pm with complimentary Brisket tacos and drinks. Come by and get some great tacos and visit for a while. Just a quick update. We have been busy today. But I want to take a moment to remind everyone though I'm sure you know, today is the first day of early voting it will last until May 25th. Election day is Tuesday May 29th. I can't express enough how important it is that we get out and vote and make sure that all our friends and family do the same. People complain about the Sheriff's department but unless you go to the polls and vote and change the leadership to something totally different then nothing will change. We have to break the cycle folks of trusting and relying on the same type of person to run the department. Everytime we put men cut from the same cloth into a position of leadership where after elected all they do is disappoint. Promises out the window, words that ring hollow. I am asking each and every one of you to rise up, unite and get to the polls and help change the negative history of the Sheriff's Department leadership. Get to the polls and Vote Ricketts you will not be sorry.....

Well it took 16 chairs and one high chair but the family was able to meet this evening and have a wonderful meal together. I am blessed with a beautiful wife of 44 years that has blessed me with 3 beautiful daughters that have married and are following tradition. There is so much to be said about tradition. I have always instilled in my daughters to work hard, nurture their marriages by talking, and raise their children with the same morals and values that they had instilled in them. Tomorrow early voting starts and I just want to say that we go to the polls and say no more! The history of the Sheriff's office for the last 20 years has been tainted with scores of allegations of mismanagement,ignoring the needs of the troops and staff,honoring the good old boy system, and allowing the morale and pride practically fade from exsistance. The way we stop this is to contact all your friends, family ect. Tell them to contact theirs. Then get into your cars and go to the polls and Vote for Change! Its going to take us all speaking at the polls with our votes to remove the same tired do nothing leadership. You must also be careful that you don't make the mistake of replacing the same leadership with a same do nothing individual that will carry on in the exact same way that things have been done in the past. The only hope for the BSCO is someone new,someone with innovative ideas,someone with energy, someone who cares sincerely about the troops and the staff working at the department. We will be a team and a organized united force to reckoned with if you will exercise your right to vote for a new day...

I have been so blessed and fortunate to have met so many wonderful people along this journey. From the very beginning I have always been surrounded by people that believed in me from the very first time I ran for this office to today. These last few weeks as I have walked through neighborhoods throughout the county I have come to realize something. Yes I am asking for votes and yes I have a goal that I have wanted to see happen for many years. But the greatest thing is the people that I have met by knocking on doors I have found it to be both rewarding and humbling. They are kind,ready to listen and wish me luck. They come from all backgrounds in life,some live in big houses,little houses, some with lots of family, some that have already paid there dues and are enjoying retirement.The one thing I have found they share is that they truly want to hear what I have to say and they all believe that there needs to be a change. They mention concerns about the leadership,they ask why the same type of individuals continue to receive votes only to turn around and continue the same bad practices that bring disgrace to the department. The lack of care that does not foster morale and appreciation for the troops and employees. All I can say to them is that we the voters are responsible for keeping these type of individuals in office. It is a bad choice when a candidates heart is not in the right place,maybe they seek this position for the wrong reasons, whether it be power,benefits for friends, the money or various other things. The last thing I tell them and what I have been telling everyone else that are disgusted,tired and fed up is that in order to change we have to rise up, get into our cars,drive to our polling sight and Vote for Change! Things will not change if we the people do not stand up and speak at the polls NO MORE!
I ask that you believe in me and a change, how will we know if we never try? How has the past leadership served us to date? When you ask your self those questions the answer is clear...There needs to be a new type of leadership with no hidden agenda, someone that is willing to put a stop to the good old boy inner circle that is the very core of the corruption that we continue to see and the deputies suffer from. I will end with this, if we are not willing to force change then nothing will change....at the end of the day the process is in our hands its up to us what we do with it and what happens after that.

Just a few words on the status of the campaign. We are gaining more and more momentum and supporters everyday. I love visiting with the deputies hearing their needs,ideas and concerns. I also enjoy meetings and blockwalking any opportunity to shake hands and speak face to face with voters is a blessing and I am in my element it is what I love to do. I enjoy helping to shape and see new ideas evolve and come to fruition. I feel rewarded when people are able to really see that hard work, integrity and honesty will ultimately deliver the change and atmosphere they expect and deserve. We are headed toward the home stretch, I have been so blessed with all the support. All I ask is that you continue sending emails to all your addresses and ask them to vote for Larry Ricketts for Sheriff, then turn around and do the same.Use your Facebook and Invite all your friends to visit the FB page then turn around and do the same with their friend For those of us that want something different it will shortly be the time to rise up and unite, make a change and the only way that is going to happen is by all of us speaking at the polls.Thank you to all of you whose thoughts and prayers have been lifting me and giving me strength, because of that I know together we can do this......
