I had a wonderful time at the breakfast with Bob Cruther and his mens group yesterday morning. I was allowed the opportunity to speak to the group about my ideas, plans and solutions to problems at the Sheriff's Department. We then attended a mixer for David Canales whitch was very enjoyable. There I met some great people and new supporters, I am very grateful of this opportunity as one of them gave a very generous donation, there aren't enough words to express my thanks and appreciation. It goes a long way in this campaign road that I am on. Fiesta is here a great time to enjoy foods, music and places downtown for lots of fun and activities. San Antonio and the county of Bexar bring a melting pot of flavors to this event and it is wonderful to attend. As always enjoy and be safe we want everyone to make it home safe and sound....Have a great weekend..

Well here it is another weekend gone, hope everyone had a relaxing and safe one. Monday is here and we have amped up our campaign schedule like never before. Meeting new supporters everyday, people contacting us asking how they can help and join in on our road to victory. I welcome everyone, anyone who is ready for some change to better the community safety and bring back the morale and respect to the troops of the BCSO to join us. From Deputies inside and outside the jail and to all the support staff that work tirelessly everyday, I salute you and admire your strength and dedication for hanging on. I am offering words of encourage to let you know that I watching, listening and taking phone calls just like I have done for the last 16 years. I am here by your side just like I have always been, and plan to continue that practice so that we can become united and strong as we deserve. So tackle this week with energy and hope knowing that a knew day is coming. Make sure you share this with all your family and friends and ask them to do the same and we will rise to victory on May 29th! Remember strength in numbers.... Have a great week.

This morning started off with my second to the youngest grandaugther Callie's T-ball game. Let me tell you if you want to clear your mind and bring a smile to your face, just go to a T-ball game! These youngsters are so eager to play the game and are just learning all the rules and plays so it always promises a lot of laughs. We then headed out to Mike Blounts Barbeque at Commanche Park. We visited early and talked with lots of great friends and fellow candidates. Then headed back for a second visit later in the afternoon. I was glad to see my good friend Tony Talanco from Texas Pride out there along with many other food booths. These are the times that I enjoy the most getting to see the kids having a great time, the pride in their parents faces and visiting with people that I haven't met yet, but remind me that they see me all over San Antonio.Hearing this makes me proud to be a part of this process and is a testament to my energy and spirit to be active, current and in touch with everything that is going on. From the community to the department and most recently the troops. I want them to know that it is my solemn promise to them. There is no other way for leadership to be successful unless they are hands on, listening, and willing to be proactive....I am looking forward to bringing this to the BCSO. Whats been going on hasn't worked and will never work... its time for a change.....Have a great weekend..

Last nights endorsement by the UTSA Young Democrats was amazing. I am so honored. Just being around this group of dedicated and motivated young democrats was so enjoyable . Their energy is contagious! To recieve this endorsement means so very much to me and I want to send out a thank you to them again!!
This morning I recieved calls that were very disturbing but not suprising.I also feel that these are the kind of things that I need to share with you.The calls were from Deputies who were expressing their distrust in the administration for eliminating half the staff in warrants to fill patrol post. This shows how out of touch the
present administration is with the department and the needs of the community. It
is going to be such a pleasure to run these people out of the Sheriff's office.
Remember to vote Ricketts for Sheriff May 29.

I just wanted to write here today and let everyone know that we are busy working behind the scenes on this campaign. Soon we will need your help, with blockwalking, spreading the word through family, friends, email, facebook ect. Then when the polls open for early voting and on May 29th remember to VOTE! Make sure you ask your friends and family if the voted! I am overwhelmed by the support that everyone has shown me this far, and I am humbled by all of you that have continued to believe in me for so long! It doesn't just say something about me (for never giving up) but it says alot about you and what great people I have in my life. You have all been right here along beside me and have stepped up everytime this election comes around because you believe. You believe like I believe that there can be a better day for the Bexar County Sheriff's Department, the Deputies and Staff. You believe that we can work hard at making our community a safer and better place to live. This is the time, its our time.

Sorry I have not written here in a while, the campaign is at its busiest time. I hope you all had a blessed and wonderful Easter Holiday with your families. It was a time to come together and rejoice in Gods love for us that he gave us his only son. I am very grateful for all the opportunities that I have had and all the wonderful people the good Lord has put in my path. I have always been blessed with a great group of friends and families that have supported me every election. I am bringing this up (you know who you are!) because I will need your help once again to win this primary. I ask that you remember to get out and vote either during early voting or on election day May 29th. Please share with your family and friends and even young voters how important this election is. The Sheriff's Department has been drowning in a sea of discontent and negligience for far to long. Men and women deputies, staff, ect. have been suffering the inconsisitencies and lack of leadership to the point of despair and many have lost hope. I want to bring back the hope and the belief that the BCSO can be a great place to work for and also build it up to one of the premier top ranking Sheriff's office's in the country. This is a promise I have made and will continue to make all the way the the Sheriff's office.....I know I can count on every friend I have made new and old, to come out for me at this very special time, I am a blessed man. Thank you,
~Larry
